This house was designed for a small clearing in a densely wooded and steeply sloping site on a large estate in rural Ireland. Arranged to take advantage of spectacular views over the River Suir estury, it comprises a bridge connecting to a floor of living / dining / kitchen areas, above a lower level of three bedrooms and bathroom, and below a galleried study leading to a covered roof terrace. The materials are red cedar boarding, with rendered projecting bays and structural steelwork painted in earthy primary colours.
